What should I do if my weight goes up overnight?

If we’re working together on the 1-2-1 nutrition coaching programme, you’ll be getting weighed every single day, but I don’t want you to worry about your weight.

When you step on the scales each day, approach it like a scientist! Just note the numbers and let me have the data. Your weight will go up and down, but we’re not particularly bothered about the daily variations. We are looking at the general trend, but we need as much data as possible, hence weighing daily.

With the greatest of respect, you probably don’t know what should be happening with your weight and it can be difficult to be objective when you’ve done everything right and your weight goes up overnight. Guess what – it’s going to go up and down everyday, forever. As I said, it the general trend we’re interested in!

I’ve worked with 100s if not 1000s of people and I’ve seen tens of thousands of days of data, so I know what should and shouldn’t be happening – day by day, week by week, month by month, and even year by year!

So all this data is more for me, so I can make sure you are on the right track. If it goes up, down or stays the same, there’s no point getting stressed or excited about it because it’s just one day.

My job is to analyse and interpret the data.

Your job is to hit the nutrition goals and send the data to me. 

Your main focus should be on hitting the calorie and macro targets. If you hit these targets and can provide me with consistent numbers, we can then adjust as needed.

So bear this in mind all the time. Focus on hitting your nutrition targets and let me worry about your weight! We will then achieve your goals a lot faster! 🙂
